Mbidde writes to Museveni to Fund his Wedding

Mukasa Mbidde

Democratic Party (DP) Vice president Fred Mukasa Mbidde has written to President Yoweri Museveni imploring him for cash to feed a mammoth of guests he expects to turn up for his wedding ceremony.

Mbidde, this website has reliably learnt, launched the wedding, which is slated for April 28 at Serena- Kigo with a paltry shs 18 million and a budget of 2 billion.

Since the launch of the much anticipated glamorous function, top Kampala money bags have pledged to support their associate.

However, the pledges are more than cash received yet service providers demand 50% deposit and full payment on the D-day.

Mbidde’s relatives, say the man from Masaka has been compelled to write to Museveni to avoid an embarrassment on the last hour.

“For example, tycoon Basajjabalaba pledged $10000 but has not remitted anything yet the function is 10 days away. Businessman Godfrey Kirumira who is the chairman of the wedding pledged 25 million but that alone can’t be enough for long list of priorities,” said a relative.

Mbidde launched the wedding at Serena Hotel on March 10, and received a bevy of guests who promised to support his cause.

Most of the guests who flocked the launch were wannabe lawyers who stash a huge wallet in their behind- pocket with no money but betting receipts.

These wannabes count on luck for survival.

“Many of such caliber pledged 1 to 2 million, but they are yet to send a coin,” a relative added.

Sensing danger, the man with a complicated command for the queen’s language made a move to Museveni.

Surprisingly, the letter which is languishing on Museveni’s table contains simple english and straight to the point, as the former EALA MP  “kowtows in Museveni’s poohoo.”

As to whether the President who refers to Democratic Party as ‘friendly opposition’ has responded to Mbidde, it remains unknown but the two have had a good political relations in the past.

Mbidde, lost his first wife Suzan Namaganda died in road accident in 2015.

After four years of braving cold nights, he went to Rwanda and picked Phiona Nayebare in a traditional ceremony known as- Gufata Irembo.

Mbidde’s bachelors party is slated for 26th of this month at Kampala’s number one night spot Guvnor and the password is KOWTOW.
