Police at Wandegeya in Kampala is investigating a case of attempted murder following an incident at a Total petrol station in Makerere Kikoni, Kawempe Division, Kampala , that happened today 17th of April 2023 .
It is alleged that an Indian national, identified as 40-year-old Patel Samir Kumar Arvind Bhai, allegedly strangled and cut Michael Ssebowa , a manager at the petrol station.
Ssebowa sustained a deep cut on the left side of his neck and is receiving treatment at Hammar Medical Services in Makerere Kavule.
Bhai, a resident of Lugogo Bypass in Nakawa Division, is the manager of HJ. Oils Uganda Limited and has been detained pending further investigations.
According to Bhai, he attacked the victim due to suspicions of witchcraft, though the pair had reportedly had a difficult relationship in the past.
A knife was recovered at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
