Video: Speaker invites Clergy to Parliament as MPs Vote on Homosexuality, “Come see Who is for God or Devil”

Speaker Among former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga at the prayers

The Speaker of Parliament of Uganda has invited heads of religions in Uganda to personally attend plenary to witness which lawmakers will vote to legalize homosexuality.

Rt Hon Anita Among extended his invitation on Tuesday during the breakfast prayers with various religious leaders in Kampala.

“We gathered earlier today to dedicate Parliament to the Lord, and I pledged to the Country that a Bill will be introduced as soon as possible to deal with Homosexuality and lesbianism. We shall Jealously protect our cherished values and culture,” Among tweeted after the prayers.

In her speech, the Speaker made it clear that the country doesn’t need money from homosexuals in change of the traditional values and culture.

“We don’t appreciate the values of Ugandans that they are destroying. We don’t appreciate their money that they are bringing to destroy our cultures. We don’t need their money, we need our cultures,” she said amid thunderous applause.

Many leaders from the nooks and crevice of Uganda have teamed up to condemn in the strongest terms the actions by foreigners to spread homosexuality in Uganda.

It has been established that the gays use Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to extend funding to schools and other vulnerable communities with aim of recruiting young children into the acts of homosexuality.

Against that backdrop Parliament of Uganda has since revived the anti- homosexuality law which was shelved in 2014 on grounds that it was passed without quorum.

The Speaker has now said voting will be by show of hands.

“And on that note therefore as an institution of Parliament, an institution of this country that passes the laws that are in this country, tomorrow we are going to bring a bill about anti-homosexuality. And I want to request religious leaders that this time be there and see who is who? We won’t allow an aspect of quorum. Now we are going to vote by show of hands.”

She added, “You are either for homosexuality or you are against. We want to see the type of leaders we have for this country.”
