The sophisticated unit of Police- Crime Intelligence on Thursday conducted an operation on an ADF terror cell, in Katakala village in Mityana District, where it’s leader, Sulaiman Bisaso Segawa, was killed.

Two other ADF terrorists, who included a Medic and female were arrested after they surrendered.

The top ADF leader was on Police’s wanted list for masterminding the attacks on various police stations, murders and violence on police officers and civilians.

“Today’s events are another reminder, that the UPF will continue to pursue all terrorists and violent extremists, who victimize Ugandans. The operation is still ongoing and we thank our CI teams and territorial units in Mityana, for their relentless pursuit and bravery,” Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said in a statement.

Who is Sulaiman Bisaso?

According to information obtained by this website, the dead extremist has been using a couple of names to hide his identity.

But his real name is Ali Bisasi, he grew up in Masaka but joined ADF at a youthful age and he was codenamed Sulaiman Segawa Bisaso.

He grew through the ranks of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) ranks and assigned as Jamilu Mukulu’s assistant.

Jamil Mukulu is a Ugandan militant leader and suspected war criminal who was the principal founder and former leader of the Allied Democratic Forces, an armed Islamist rebel group in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mukulu was arrested in Tanzania in 2015 and is currently awaiting trial in the International Criminal Court for charges such as murder and crimes against.

After the arrest of Mukulu, Bisaso secretly sneaked into Uganda and started establishing cells in the Central Region.
