The Board of Directors of DFCU bank has rejected to extend the contract of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mathias Katamba, prompting him to leave the financial institution.
Katamba has held the position since January 2, 2019 when DFCU announced his appointment as a successor of ‘troubled’ Juma Kisaame.
Prior to his appointment, Katamba served as Housing Finance Bank Managing Director, a position he served for 5 years.
While at the helm of DFCU, the bank which had emerged the top financial institution nosedived and registered tremendous losses.
As to whether this catapulted into his woes remains unknown as DFCU board Chairman Jimmy Mugerwa couldn’t pick our calls for a comment.
Equally Mr Katamba couldn’t answer our repeated calls.
However, this website understands that Mr Katamba sent al email to all staff of DFCU on Friday announcing his exit.
This is a developing story..
