West Nile have asked UPDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba to act as an ambassador to the President on the issues affecting west nile development.
Over the weekend Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Presidential advisor on special operations was in Arua city to officiate the inter district sports tournament aimed at creating opportunities and development of talents.
Wadri Sam Nyakua the Mayor Arua city on behalf of all the local governments asked Muhoozi to talk to President Museveni on the issues of poor roads in west nile, power issues which are leaving the region marginalized.
Nyakua said if today there were elections today NRM would lose because of the poor state of roads in the region.
He also said though the government is connecting the region to the national grid, there are no available resources for extending the power to the various districts of west nile.
Similarly the Aringa south Member of Parliament York Alioni Odria told Muhoozi to deliver the message as it has been sent because the issues are serious which need urgent attention.
Jackson Atima the Member of Parliament central division also emphasized on the need to compensate the ex combatants and the Konyi war victims plus the farmers.
He said all these marginalized groups have been suffering for long and the government has not responded to their cries.
Muhoozi in his speech pledged to reach the information to the president.
He said he is also aware of some of the issues affecting west nile which will be handled soon.
The function that took place at Arua golf course attracted local leaders from districts of Adjumani, Obongi, Terego, Madi okollo, Nebbi, Zombo among others
