Gen. Muhoozi asks President Ruto for Forgiveness

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba

UPDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has come out to clarify that he has never had personal vendetta with Kenyan President William Ruto.

Muhoozi made the revelation on Twitter on Thursday evening.

“I have never had any problem with Afande Ruto,” he tweeted.

The Four-Star General who was promoted last week asked for forgiveness from Ruto, if at all he made a mistake anywhere.

“If I made a mistake anywhere,  I ask him to forgive me as his young brother. Godbless East Africa,” he added.

Last week Muhoozi generated a global debate with his banter of taking over Nairobi in two weeks in a military offensive.

His tweet was interpreted otherwise by the Kenyans who deemed it as an attack on a sovereign nation.

His comments saw the President, also the Commander in Chief (CiC) of UPDF Gen Museveni remove him from army command as Commander of Land Forces but promoted him to General.

Museveni apologized to Kenyans but also justified his decision to promote Muhoozi to the highest military rank saying the former SFC commander could have made a mistake but he still trusts his capabilities.
