Museveni unpacks Verbal artillery on EU for “Broadcasting Ignorance” on Uganda’s oil

President Yoweri Museveni has ruled out Ebola lockdown in Kampala

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has branded European Union (EU) Parliament, as “insufferable,” “egocentric,” and “shallow.”

Museveni scoffed at efforts by EU in attempting to suffocate Uganda’s oil pipeline project urging TotalEnergies and its partners- CNOOC to consider the pipeline and refinery.

“I encourage the oil companies to move with the two; refinery and on the pipeline,” Museveni said while speaking at oil and gas conference which took place at Kololo grounds in Kampala.

Museveni’s strong worded speech aroused thunderous applause from the MPs and various stakeholders who perceived the EU’s resolution as an extension of economic racism and sabotage on Uganda.

Before opening a can of worms, Museveni previously warned the oil companies that if they choose to listen to EU, Uganda will find someone else to work with.

And on Tuesday he launched full scale verbal artillery against “some imperialists” who advance their ignorance on Uganda’s oil pipeline.

“Now for the European Union. You know I spent many years studying English- 12 years. I think one of the words I picked up in those years is insufferable,” he said.

A fortnight ago, EU voted to denounce Uganda’s oil pipeline project claiming infringed on human rights and environment.

“Some of these people are insufferable. You need to control yourself not to explode,” Museveni unleashed.

He termed EU as “so shallow, so egocentric, so wrong. And they think they know everything, broadcasting their ignorance all over the place.”

The NRM chairman advised EU to calm down because “this is a wrong battle ground for them.”

“We don’t talk kindly to the arrogant. That is why we spent many years sorting arrogant people,” Museveni warned.
