A lecturer and researcher at MUBS has lost his life due to injuries he sustained after an attack by a group of thugs known as Kifeesi on Friday night.
Juma Bananuka succumbed to wounds on Sunday morning at Mulago Referral Hospital.
“MUBS has lost one its best researchers. He just finished his PhD and was waiting for graduation. Robbers beat him and he died today in Mulago. Rest in peace Juma Bananuka,” reads a message making rounds on Whatsapp.
Earlier on Saturday, MUBS students and staff were notified that Bananuka had been attacked by unknown criminals with an aim of taking his life .
“Morning fellows am requesting for all your prayers for my my family member, lecturer at mubs and a qualified scientists from the accounting department Bananuka Juma who was attacked at night by unknown pipo with the aim of kill. Thanks,” another message circulated on Saturday.
Insecurity is on the rise in Kampala and neighbouring town due to high cost of living.
