Three Parliamentary officials have been sent on forced leave for soliciting a bribe from a Namibian investor who was in Uganda to work with government.
The three officials were interdicted from office by the Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury.
According to sources at the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary took action against the trio following an investigation sanctioned by security after obtaining information how they solicited and obtained a bribe from an investor who wanted to supply and maintain solar lights.
“They asked for bribe to be able to get him a contract,” said a source.
These officials whose names have been withheld not to jeopardise investigations were attached at Parliament.
This website will divulge more details as security concludes its investigation.
