Patrick Katatanzi who worked as Chief Manager of the corporate section in Centenary bank at Mapeera House in Kampala, forever changed by the acid attack is still waiting for an arrest in the case.
10 months later Uganda Police has not apprehended any culprit or ascertained the motive of the crime which happened last year on September 27 as the victim returned home from the bank.
Katatanzi was driving Probox vehicle Reg No. UAU 954J when two men riding on a motorcycle approached from the rear of his vehicle and threw at him a jug containing suspected acid in Makindye near KCCA offices
Police detectives at Katwe police station who visited the scene said the liquid splashed on him burnt the clothes he was dressed in. But the victim managed to run to Makindye medical center close to the scene before he was rushed to Nsambya hospital.
Detectives examined the scene and were able to pick samples of the liquid, which were submitted to Government Analytical Laboratories in Wandegeya for analysis.
Police then launched a manhunt for the suspects.
However, authorities have since not updated the public about the findings and whether there were arrests made and what could have triggered the perpetrators to attempt to end Katantazi’s life.

This website has so far established that whereas there is no Police update in relation to the attack, there are fresh threats issued against those trying to revive the case.
Several of Centenary Bank managers have been intimated by unknown people threatening to arrest them should they continue pursuing the case.
What is shocking is that those issuing threats allegedly work in security.
As to whose interests they serve remains a point of contention.
