A yet to be identified foreigner was Friday night assaulted by a group of thugs in Mengo a Kampala suburb leaving him for the dead.
Whereas his details remain scanty, reports circulating on social media platform Whatsapp, indicate that the victim is a Swedish national who was walking home before a gang of city criminals descended on him and unleashed brutality.
According to Whatsapp post, this foreigner was rescued by neighbours at around 10pm and rushed him to hospital where it was established that the attack left him with broken facial bones and six shattered ribs.
“This Swedish fella was walking along the road alone and attacked in Mengo near my home at 10pm last night, bones broken in face and six broken ribs,” a text circulating on Whatsapp reads.
Police was yet to issue a statement in relation to the crime.
