Rwandan President Gen Paul Kagame is expected in Uganda tomorrow to attend Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 48th birthday celebrations.
This will be Kagame’s first time in four years to step foot on Ugandan soil since March 2018.
Muhoozi will host his guests in two different functions; tomorrow at Lugogo Cricket Oval and Sunday at State House Nakasero.
Lugogo’s event has been organized by the UPDF commander’s close relative Michael Nuwagira alias Toyota while President Yoweri Museveni is the chief organizer of Sunday’s dinner.
At the beginning of this week, Muhoozi announced that his uncle, the Rwandan leader will be gracing his occasion.
The two have been holed in talks in the recent past which resulted into a number of developments including reopening of the border which Kagame had closed in 2018 after both nations almost went into an armed conflict.
Uganda’s Foreign Minister Gen Jeje Odong confirmed the arrival of Mr Kagame on Saturday.
