Exclusive: UPDF soldier Attached to URA involved in Entebbe robbery Refuses to Leave office

Isingoma's car was vandalised and shot at during the arrest

A UPDF soldier working under Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) intelligence continues his business as usual at Nakawa Tower despite his involvement in Entebbe Robbery.

Captain Charles Isingoma was arrested by Entebbe police last year after his car was intercepted and shot as cops trailed robbers.

Isingoma’s car a Toyota premio registration number UAW 307b was shot at over 10 times and deflated in a bid to arrest the occupants.

Authorities at Entebbe police were dismayed to learn that one of the occupants was a UPDF captain managing intelligence in URA.

He was immediately charged with robbery and a file 62/09//06/21 opened by the Entebbe police OC/CID.

However, this website has established that using his connections, Cpt Isingoma couldn’t spend long time in police custody, his colleagues stormed the station demanding his release.

According to documents obtained by this website, Isingoma barely spent a night in the cells he was released on police bond with instructions to reappear for questioning after week.

But up to now he has never showed up but continues to run his everyday work at URA.

The copy of the police bond this website obtained shows that he was arrested on 9th June 2021 and released on the same date.

Isingoma presented two sureties Diana Namanya and Lt Col Emmanuel Zaake.

This website published a story last year in March where Col Zaake was linked to a highway robbery of $400,000 from a South Sudanese General.

Isingoma’s police bond

Both Zaake and Isingoma are supervised by Col Wamundu Cassette.

TrumpetNews has further established that Isingoma’s file “died a natural death” at Entebbe Police and his car which had been parked at the station was also towed away to “kill evidence.”

Sources at URA said Isingoma is among a small faction of the untouchable officials at Nakawa who run the tax body the way they want.

A source further said the Commissioner General (CG) John Musinguzi Rujoki may not be aware and is insensitive to the reputation damage the team will eventually cause him and mostly shaming the once praised institution.

“In fact some staff are wondering how a committed born-again deals with Col .Cassette, head of intelligence who operates a Bar in Namugongo. Born again and booze selling are not compatible,” a source said.

No single official was willing to be on record to speak about this matter.

The Commissioner General John Rujoki couldn’t be reached when contacted.

This is a developing story……
