Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah died a fortnight ago in Seattle, America

The body of Uganda’s former Speaker Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah will return home on Friday, the Minister of Presidency Milly Babalanda has said.

She is in charge of the burial arrangements of the fallen Speaker.

Oulanyah passed away 12 days ago in Seattle, America where he had been admitted in February.

“Fellow Ugandans, I wish to confirm that the body of our beloved Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah will arrive in Uganda this Friday. We shall then have a week-long series of activities for his burial.” The minister announced.

She is expected to give a detailed program for the burial tomorrow, Tuesday.

The body of Hon Oulanyah is currently with the Ugandan Embassy in Washington DC, and is expected to return to the country on an Emirates Flight.

Meanwhile in Omoro district, efforts are underway to complete the mega mansion which was being constructed by the former Speaker before his death.

The works are being undertaken by the UPDF’s Engineering Brigade, although it is unlikely that they will have completed the entire structure by the end of this week.
