Speaking to this website on Friday evening, the army publicist, Brig. Felix Kulayigye termed the arrest as “Fake News.”
“The arrest is not there. It is fake news,” Kulayigye said.
He added that, “I can’t confirm what is not there.”
Reports carried by various online media outlets indicated that Bakahumura was arrested shortly after attending prayers at Kololo Grounds.
It is alleged that some of his juniors were found with fuel cards worth billions of shillings.
That the army arrested more 5 logistical officers from Mbuya UPDF headquarters.
Brig. Bakahumura heads the UPDF logistics and engineering brigade.
The five appeared before the UPDF disciplinary unit on Thursday and were further remanded to Makindye military barracks.
Kulayigye confirmed there is an investigation on the said junior officers, “but certainly not the General.”
