The report of the Committee on Rules, Privilege and Discipline on Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake’s misconduct is expected to be tabled today, Thursday.

The Committee chaired by Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu has been investigating the alleged gross misconduct and misbehavior of Zaake, who is a backbench Commissioner.

Their report is expected to be tabled before Parliament in today’s plenary sitting. It is this report that will guide the House on the impeachment process of Zaake.

Last month, more than 260 MPs signed the notice of motion to impeach Zaake as commissioner. The notice of motion was tabled by Ojara Mapenduzi, MP for Bardege-Layibi Division in Gulu City.

Zaake took to social media to abuse Deputy Speaker Anita Among over her statement on his alleged torture.

Zaake regarded the Deputy Speaker as a “dishonest” person who lacks “intelligential” prowess. A few days after the notice of motion of censure, Zaake deleted the tweets.
