Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba will be travelling to Kigali to meet Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
Muhoozi’s return to Kigali followed a lengthy phone conversation he had with Mr Kagame on Monday morning.
Muhoozi would later reveal the development through social media.
However, the Commander of UPDF land forces didn’t reveal the exact date when he will leave for Rwanda.
“After a long discussion with my uncle, President Kagame, this morning we have agreed that I return to Kigali in the coming days to sort out all outstanding issues between Uganda and Rwanda,” Muhoozi tweeted on Monday afternoon.
Following his previous trip to Rwanda, Kagame’s government announced the reopening of Katuna/Gatuna border.
But only cargo tracks from either side have so far been allowed into the country, with movement of people still restricted.
