The management of national broadcaster- UBC has suspended its journalist Ivan Kahwa.
Mr Kahwa is accused of breaching the station’s editorial policy after he leaked a video of Prime Minister Hon Robinah Nabbanja which has since gone viral and attracted public backlash.
“He has been sent home pending investigations,” said an official at Nile Avenue based TV station.
“He received his letter on Friday afternoon,” he added.
Maurice Mugisha, the deputy managing director of the corporation couldn’t be reached for a comment.
No any other official was willing to speak on record when contacted.
Another separate source told this website that the journalist has been accused of mortifying the number three citizen in the land.
In the video that has widely been shared, the Prime Minister is heard commenting on the current spike in fuel prices in the country, saying she had instructed the Minister of Energy Hon Ruth Nankabirwa to direct her commissioners to investigate the cause of the crisis.
However, amidst the interview the Prime Minister turned into vernacular, saying she had run out of English words.
