Belligerent National Unity Platform (NUP) member Moses Bigirwa has been apprehended by police over his attempts to blackmail and extort money from the Deputy Speaker Anita Among claiming to have a dossier implicating her in corruption cases.
Following his arrest, it further emerged that Bigirwa is among the culprits that engineered a false dossier against Hon Among.
Officials in Uganda Police said Bigirwa is among many suspects who are being hunted for witch-hunting and peddling lies against the Deputy Speaker.
He is in Special Investigations Unit (SIU) custody in Kireka.
At a time of his arrest, reports indicate that he was planning to throw piglets at Parliament covered with placards insulting and demeaning the Deputy Speaker.
Officials said that arresting Bigirwa was a huge step into busting a cabal that has ganged up against Ms Among.
On Wednesday, Hon Among told MPs that she was unbothered about the falsehoods but also reassured that the perpetrators of the venomous, malicious and false dossier would soon face the full wrath of the law.
The fake missive which widely circulated on internet suggested that Deputy Speaker was in hot soup and would soon face exit from Parliament due to her unscrupulous tendencies.
The faceless dossier had been sent to Inspectorate of Government.
In an audio obtained by this website, Mr Bigirwa who has been in news over his troubled marriage is heard planning how to extract money from the Deputy speaker.
