National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine has faced serious wild insults from furious Kenyans after he endorsed and encouraged them to vote Paul Ongili a.k.a Babu Owino as Nairobi Governor come 2022.
Bobi Wine joined Babu on his campaign trail in Kenya after attending a wedding over the weekend. He then posted a video of himself endorsing Babu but shortly deleted it. Unfortunately, the same video had already been reposted by Babu thanking him for campaigning for him.
It is however alleged that Babu has been facing charges for shooting a DJ in a club and a video showing the crime being committed circulates social media.
“Bobi Wine endorsed a criminal for an elective position! Paul Ongili a.k.a Babu Owino attended to murder a man and got away with it! You can’t be preaching about impunity in your country and in the same breath endorse Ongili who’s the walking epitome of Kenyan impunity!” reads a tweet from @Nakayiza.
The fact that Kyagulanyi would endorse someone with a criminal record has left Kenyans bewildered and spitting fire at him on social media, claiming to finally understand why Ugandans voted for H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni instead of Kyagulanyi. @WaNgigeh tweeted saying, “If Bobi Wine sympathizes with Babu Owino then he deserves M7’s hands squeezing on his gonads.”
“At least we know why he cannot lead in Uganda. It proves Museveni was right all along. Sadly this says it all,” read one of the tweets from Alfred M Aswani. Another read, “Museveni was fucking right. Bobi Wine is a scam.”
Others went on to justify the brutal treatment Kyagulanyi faced during the presidential campaigns calling him a mad man that needed to be silenced. “A mad man may sometimes speak a true word, but watch him, he will add something that will tell you that his mind is still spoilt. If that is his thinking then Museveni has every reason to silence him,” tweeted Lameck Bosire angrily.
One mistake and Kyagulanyi’s reputation has very quickly gone down the drain while many say he didn’t do research before endorsing Babu.
