Tony Kanaalo, a prominent city lawyer and brother to FDC leader Salaam Musumba has has succumbed to injuries inflicted on him by bouncers at a bar.
Kanaalo, died Sunday morning at Mengo Hospital.
The deceased’s family released a statement explaining how Kanaalo landed in trouble with bouncers at T.I Lounge and Bar in Mengo.
“Tony got into a heated argument on Friday, 8th October 2021, with the bouncers at T.I lounger & bar around Mengo, not far from LISA clinic where he is a patron,” the statement said.
“During the unfriendly exchange, the bouncer beat up Tony to pulp causing him to land head first on the ground, where he was left unconscious for close to an hour until a good Samaritan found him. He was then taken to LISA clinic for first aid then later transferred to Mengo hospital where he was nursed for seven days. “
It is reported that the injuries leading to his death caused him to suffer a stroke on the left side of his body, in addition to suffering a blood clot in his head that affected his brain.
“On Friday, 15th October, 2021 a brain surgery was performed on him in an attempt to remove the blood clot, but Tony failed to make it out of the Intensive Care Unit alive,” the family added.
