Ssegirinya further Remanded despite Showing rotting Feet to Court

Ssegirinya showing rotting foot in Court

Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya has further been remanded to Kigo Prison until October 29, 2021. This is because the State Prosecutor, Judith Nyinamwiza, ably informed court that investigations into the case are still ongoing.

The Kawempe North Member of Parliament appeared before Buganda Road Court Grade one magistrate, Doreen Karungi today using zoom, to whom he exhibited his feet which were rotting as a result of alleged continuous torture while in prison.
The National Unity Platform, to which the accused subscribes, tweeted saying,
“Our comrade Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad is appearing before the Buganda Rd Court where he is being charged with fresh offences of inciting violence. He has shown to court his feet are damaged following the torture he received while in custody.”

Hon. Ssegirinya pleaded not guilty to the charge of inciting violence, for which he is being detained.

Ssegirinya’s mother, Justine Nakajumba, wailed upon hearing the magistrate’s holding begging the state to pardon Ssegirinya who is facing charges of murder, attempted murder, aiding and abetting terrorism in the recent streak of Masaka killings.

She yelled, “Why? Why? Why? Please pardon my son. President Museveni please forgive my son, Ssegirinya. I beg you. He’s in so much pain and too sick to continue being detained. I no longer eat food ever since he was arrested and remanded.”
Ssegirinya is to appear before court on October 29th, 2021.
