The Acting CEO of Uganda Airlines Jennifer Bamuturaki has described the first two international flights to Dubai as a huge success, promising to compete favourably against the giants.
She made the remarks during an interview to mark the official launch of the Dubai route on Saturday at Dubai based Occidental Hotel.
She noted that the airline managed to have over 80 passengers onboard while the second flight on Friday October 8th 2021 attracted over 200 passengers.
Uganda Airline’s Airbus has capacity to carry 258 passengers and 27 tonnes of cargo.
“We were overwhelmed by the numbers on the second flight. We listened to our customers and gave them what they wanted,” she said, adding that many traders have already embraced Uganda Airlines.
The vividly, delighted CEO, who has turned around the face of the national courier following her appointment by the President said that, the management has since focused on the expansion of the routes across the world.
She added that because of the good services the airline is offering, customers globally are yearning to fly with the new state of the art airbus.
Her remarks come high on the heels of a communication by the UK lifting a red flag on Uganda as a hot spot for Covid-19 in Africa.
As a result, the Airlines is moving fast to open its UK route to meet the overwhelming demand from its customers.
The launch was graced by Fred Byamukama, the State Minister for Transport, officials from Transport Ministry and Ugandan Ambassador in the United Arab Emirates Zaake W. Kibedi.
