An investigation sanctioned by this website has landed on details surrounding a deadly move to dethrone the King of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom.
The racket is reportedly being patronized by the embattled former Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom Owek Norman Lukumu and it has since frontend Kisoro Apollo who claims to have been appointed the “Heir apparent to the throne” by Rukirabasaija Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st the King of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom.
Kisoro Apollo has for a long time been going around telling whoever cares to listen how Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st, the reigning King of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom “appointed” him the Heir apparent to the throne.
In a shocking revelation, Mr Kisoro who claims to have been appointed the “Heir” on the 4th June, 2016 has been severally heard complaining that the King is delaying to hand the throne to him despite the fact that he appointed him to be his “successor”.
In a purported letter dated 4th June, 2016 and addressed to the then Speaker (Mutalindwa) of Orukurato of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Owek Jos Wamara, Kisoro Apollo was purportedly appointed by Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st to allegedly “exercise the duties of the King of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom”.
Kisoro Apollo who’s a son to the cousin brother of Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru has sparked off contraversies in the kingdom by putting up a narrative which is completely non existent in the cultural norms and traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
TrumpetNews has established that the racket comprises of the embattled former Prime Minister Norman Lukumu, Apollo Kisoro (the purported Heir), Pastor Kyebambe Steven, Kintu Samuel Harrison Gafabusa, Yowasi Isingoma, Yakobo Kato, Pacificio Kwezi, Ashraf Mugenyi and Jos Wamara among others.
This is the same group that reportedly was involved in the dubious sell of the Kingdom properties especially land during the reign of the embattled former Prime Minister.
This group has engaged with financial inducements some members of the Royal Commission that was put in place by the King to streamline key areas of priority in the Kingdom.
It’s on this account that some members of the Royal Commission names withheld are increasingly getting compromised by the same group and are reportedly beginning to sympathize with their schemes to the disappointment of the King and chairman of the Royal Commission Dr Kabagambe Kalisa.
A senior source in the Kingdom interviewed by Trumpet News guided that; “Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st has biological children and among them there’s a crown prince who automatically becomes the authentic Heir apparent to the throne” and that that’s the widely known and acceptable standard practice as far as the cultural norms and traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom are concerned.
The source further added that; “in Bunyoro Kitara kingdom, the tradition requires that the beneficiary of the WILL isn’t supposed to be privy to the contents of the WILL until it’s disclosed at the right time by the person who was entrusted with it strictly when the author of the WILL has passed away”.
The source further argued that; “under the culture and traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, it’s a known secret that the crown prince is the authentic Heir apparent to the throne”. The same source dismissed claims by Kisoro Apollo (the purported Heir) and his fellow schemers as an embarrassment to the Omukama and betrayal to the cultural norms and traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
The racket is reportedly using money to gain access to the prominent people with authority in Uganda to popularize their scheme and attract sympathy and support from the unsuspecting members of the public.
The group has reportedly been getting money from different money lenders and using it to pay someone who formerly worked in the kingdom until recently as a top official and has got strong links with State House to help them have access to president Museveni and other top officials in government.
The group has reportedly met the President, Prime Minister Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja, Gen. Salim Saleh among others making all sorts of false allegations that are injurious to the person of the King and his family as well as the image of the institution of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom.
The group has repeatedly made false and embarrassing claims against the current administration of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom led by the Prime Minister Owek Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi and it’s reported that their claims have always been ignored by the authorities after thorough investigations and verification.
TrumpetNews has since established that the effort by the purported Heir Kisoro Apollo and his group to gain access to Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st at Karuzuka (palace) has been repeatedly blocked by the handlers of Bunyoro’s Chief Royal by enhancing his security detail for his safety.
“A person claiming to be in possession of the WILL appointing him the Heir apparent to the throne is a very big danger and a risk to the reigning King because that person may want to make good of his dream by compromising the life and/ or health of the King”, said another senior source in the Kingdom.
Apollo Kisoro in company of his usual suspects is said to have met and complained to President Museveni that the King was critically ill and confined to the palace and denied room for specialized treatment by the current Prime Minister Owek Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi and the King’s Principal Private Secretary Prince Richard Kitahimbwa Businge (King’s biological son).
They also reportedly accused the King whom they claimed to be critically ill for refusing to step aside and allow Kisoro Apollo the purported Heir to ascend to the throne. The President is said to have been shocked and disturbed by such an embarrassing statement.
Sensing danger, the President reportedly dispatched a team of investigators from State House headed by a qualified medical doctor to go and verify claims that the King was critically ill and confined to the palace by his handlers to deny him specialized treatment.
The team from State House reportedly found all the claims by the Kisoro Apollo led group both false and baseless. Infact the team of investigators reportedly found the King himself taking a walk around the palace and in very good health. The team had a brief chat with the King who confirmed that he was not ill and that he was indeed in good health.
Based on the report by the State House investigation’s team, the President reportedly ordered for the enhancement of the King’s security detail through the former Chief of Defence Forces Gen. David Muhoozi who later tasked Maj. Gen. Leopold Kyanda the then Chief of Staff Land Forces to foresee the implementation of the directive.
“What Apollo Kisoro is claiming is absolutely ridiculous and abominable. Besides being a wrong party (a non biological son to the reigning King) to have his eyes on the throne, what he’s attempting to do is completely outside the cultural norms and tradition of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom. The culture and traditions of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom require that a new King can’t ascend the throne when the reigning King is still alive and in good health”, a senior source in the kingdom interviewed by Trumpet News is quoted to have said.
The witnesses to the purported “WILL” include Kintu Samuel Harrison, Yakobo Kato, Yowasi Isingoma, Pacificul Kwezi, Ashraf Mugenyi among others and the signature of Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st that’s appearing on the purported WILL is reportedly a forged signature. The King has since distanced himself from the purported WILL.
The same group also wrote a letter to the former cultural head of Bugwere (Ikumbania) H.H.R Bishop Chrisostom Wayabire (RIP) in his capacity as the then chairman Uganda Kings and Cultural Leaders Forum alleging that the life of Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom was in great danger in the hands of his current handlers headed by the Prime Minister Owek Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi.
The Ikumbania is said to have acted on such allegations by the schemers to write to the then Chief of Defense Forces Gen. David Muhoozi seeking his urgent intervention to rescue Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru from his purported captors.
“Iam seeking your urgent attention and indulgence in this matter in your capacity as Chief of Defense Forces of the Republic of Uganda since the King’s constitutional right and mandate is being abused by those supposed to protect his life”, the letter by Ikumbania to the CDF reads in parts.
Responding to the letter by Ikumbania, the then Chief of Defense Forces Gen. David Muhoozi in a letter referenced as UPDF/ CDF/ 56/ SF directed the then Chief of Staff Land Forces Maj. Gen. Leopold Kyanda to go and visit Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom and make an informed assessment regarding the issues raised by the Ikumbania.
The same group is suspected to have forged the purported AFFIDAVIT by Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st and the same forged affidavit was commissioned by the commissioner for Oaths. The King has since denied knowledge of the said AFFIDAVIT thereby automatically rendering it a forgery and a nullity.
A source knowledgeable to the behavior and conduct of Omukama Gafabusa Solomon Iguru 1st that was interviewed by Trumpet News clearly indicated that the said affidavit must be an outright forgery because there’s no way the King would disown his own appointed officials currently holding office and serving the kingdom diligently.
It’s reported that the group led by the embattled former Prime Minister Owek Norman Lukumu with the help of a certain powerful minister in government took the King to Kampala claiming that he was going to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
It later turned out that it was a ploy to make the King sign a document called the “ROYAL DECLARATION” before the former Principal Judge Hon. Justice Dr. Yorokam Bamwine as a principal witness denouncing Owek. Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi and Prince Richard Kitahimbwa Businge as Prime Minister and Principal Private Secretary respectively and reinstating Norman Lukumu as Prime Minister.
The Principal Judge was made to believe that the whole thing was genuine only to realize later that it was a scam and indeed he came out openly and apologized to the King and the people of Bunyoro after the King disowned the purported ROYAL DECLARATION and made a written public statement reaffirming the appointment of Owek Andrew Byakutaga as the kingdom’s new Prime Minister, Owek Richard Kitahimbwa as the King’s Principal Private Secretary as well as the Royal Commissioners headed by Mujwarakondo Dr Kabagambe Kalisa.
“All related documents being thrown around by the said group point to outright forgery with an intent to defraud the King and the kingdom”, a senior source in the royal clan that preferred to be anonymous said.
