Makerere University Business School has today, Monday 27th September 2021, started online end of semester one academic year 2020/2021 examinations and are scheduled to end on Friday, 09th October, 2021.
This follows a formal communication in letter form written on 13th September 2021 from the Office of the Deputy Principal, Professor Moses Muhwezi informing the students community of the examinations.
It read, “End of semester one academic year 2020/2021 examinations are scheduled to commence on Monday, September 27, 2021 and end on Friday, October 09, 2021.”
This followed the postponement of the said examinations earlier in the year due to the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic that called for another lockdown. An examination timetable was issued to the students on Friday September 17, 2021 to allow the students properly plan, prepare and re-adjust to the new format of assessment.
Given the fact that the examinations are online, the administration directed and organized for the students to have training sessions to acquaint themselves with the MUBS e-learning system which is being used for the ongoing online assessment, prior to the exercise.
“Training sessions for students on how to use the MUBS e-learning platform for the online assessments are scheduled to start on Wednesday September 15, 2021(a detailed programme will be forwarded by the E-learning Center).”, said the letter from the Office of the Deputy Principal.
MUBS joins many universities like Uganda Christian University (UCU), in embracing the online assessment system to facilitate completion of the incomplete semesters and enable the continuity of the academic year.
This comes as a result of the closure of schools and institutions of higher learning during the Covid19 lockdowns in a bid to reduce and control the spread of the fast-spreading deadly virus.
