Rogers Nsereko Kawuma has been appointed the new Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police commander following the Inspector-General of Police, John Martins Okoth Ochola’s shake up of the Traffic Police Directorate.
Nsereko had been serving as the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander and just recently successfully completed a four month inter-mediate command and staff course at the Police Senior Command and Staff College in Bwebajja, along Entebbe road in Wakiso District, which further qualified him for the position.
In accordance with the shake-up, former Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, Norman Musinga , has been regressed from the directorate and appointed the Regional Police Commander for Rwenzori West.
Israel Wambesyo has also been appointed the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Traffic Commander while former head of the Alert Squad under the Directorate of Traffic, Moses Mutabingwa is the new Elgon Regional Traffic Officer and is being superseded by Anthony Nkesiga.
Furthermore, Charles Ssebambuulidde has been replaced by Faridah Nampiima as the new appointed Traffic Directorate Spokesperson.
The shake-up has seen ACP Ben Mubangizi being appointed as the new Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Commander in place of Denis Namuwoza who was appointed Police Commisioner in charge of police operations recently, sitting at the police headquarters in Naguru.
Shuffles in other units include; former head of parliamentary police, Henry Kintu has been appointed District Police Commander of Kisoro and has been superseded by Stephen Agaba, and finally Rogers Sseguya has been appointed Deputy Regional Police Commander in charge of Kampala South.
