Ruharo OC killed as Bijambiya terror Spills to Mbarara

Unidentified assailants armed with a gun and pangas (bijambiya) have killed Richard Agaba, the OC of Ruharo Police Post as he patrolled the area in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Police has explained that at around 0200hrs when Oc Ruharo police post No 44109 cpl Richard Agaba received a call from a boda boda rider a one Kiiza Muzamiru about armed robbers who had attacked Step up bar in Kiyanja cell, Ruharo ward, Mbarara City.

The OC responded with one vigilante by the James Tumusiime also a boda boda cyclist.

However, the thugs fled the bar on learning that the revellers had started mobilizing to attack them.

The deceased together with the boda rider followed the thugs who they later met at Palm world Ruharo.

The thugs were armed with a pangas and a gun and had taken different positions.

They shot the OC and fell from the motorcycle prompting rider to continue to save his life.

Police said the thugs t took off with a police gun No. UG POL 565823996 which had unknown number of ammunitions. Agaba was rushed to the hospital by the area councillor but pronounced dead on arrival.

Police responded but could not find the assailants, the crime scene has been visited and case is being investigated vide MBARARA Sdref;04/08/09/2021.
