President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni blames his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame for continued poor diplomatic relations between Kampala and Kigali.
Museveni, who has calculatedly remained silent over time on Rwanda matters, maintained that Mr Kagame is responsible for shutting the border between the two landlocked nations for years.
Kagame further blocked Ugandan goods entering his country and his government has since harassed, arrested, detained and also killed a section of Ugandans in Rwanda.
Without remorse Kagame’s government refers to those killed as smugglers.
On the other hand, Uganda released and deported all Rwandan agents in 2019 arrested in subversive activities.
Unlike Rwanda, Uganda has never stopped Rwandans who illegally enter her territory through Kisoro and Kabale.
Speaking to France24, Museveni also denied allegations by Kagame that he was acting like the Master of the region.
Mr Kagame recently revealed that Uganda had wanted to keep commanding Rwanda.
The Rwandan leader has also consistently claimed that Uganda provides both financial and logistical support to a rebel group operating outside Rwanda to remove him from power.
Efforts to amicably resolve the bilateral issues between Uganda and Rwanda are yet to bear fruit.
Museveni also blasted criticism of international human rights groups like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, accusing foreign powers of meddling in internal affairs.
