Seasoned journalist Charles Mwanguhya Mpagi has entered a new agreement with NBSTV to moderate Frontline show.
The popular TV personality replaces Joseph Sabiiti who landed himself a juicy job at Parliament of Uganda.
Our impeccable sources at Naguru Next Media Park revealed that following Sabiiti’s notice of departure, management started hunting for a replacement and Mr Mwanguhya was selected as the best candidate among the three nominees.
Last year, Mr Mwanguhya resigned from his job at East African newspaper to join politics as Burahya County MP, he became second after garnering over 17000 votes.
This website has learnt that, after losing the election, Mwanguhya immediately got a job as Head of Corporate affairs at Tugende Financing Institution. He would later turn down request by NMG to resume his position at East African newspaper.
We have learnt that Mwanguhya will be hosting the famous talk show outside his working hours at Tugende.
“Most likely he will be unveiled today (Thursday) as the new moderator of Frontline,” a source added.
At some point, management had chosen news anchor Samson Kasumba as the moderator of the popular show, but he was not seconded.
Another senior staff we have talked to at NBSTV but wished to remain unnamed said that no agreement has been reached with Mwanguhya, although she admits that the popular TV personality is among the three candidates nominated for the job.
Frontline show airs every Thursday from 10pm to Midnight as guests and panelists discuss political, social and economic events that happen in Uganda and across the world.
When contacted for a comment, Mr Mwanguhya could neither confirm nor deny this development.
