Deputy Speaker Hon Anita Among has said she is indebted to the departed UPDF General Paul Lokech who used all means to see her win the election.

“Whenever I would see someone who was not compliant I would call General Lokech,” Hon Anita told mourners at the deceased’s residence in Kira Municipality.

Maj. Gen. Lokech died Saturday morning of blood clot which was found in his lungs. He was nursing a fracture on his leg for close to two weeks.

“Most of the votes I got in elections, I got them through Gen. Lokech,” she added.

And therefore the only way to repay Lokech and his family is to use all resources to ensure his son Christopher Komakech wins the by-election.

Komakech was last week thrown out of Parliament as Aruu County representative following a petition lodged by his rival Odonga Otto.

“We also thank God that when Lokech was still alive he gave us our young brother, Komakech. I want to assure the family that we will do whatever it takes to have Komakech back in Parliament, that is the only way we can pay this family,” Hon Anita said.

Anita narrated that before the Deputy IGP passed away on Saturday, the two had a chat the previous night in which Lokech asked if Anita had other problems which he hadn’t solved.

“General Lokech has been a very good friend of mine to an extent that even a night before he passed on, I talked to him around midnight. And he asked me, haven’t I solved your problems?”
