A source at Mengo who wished to speak on condition of anonymity, treating the Kabaka’s health as “very sensitive matter” told this website that the King and all his children have allergies, except his wives.
The source however did not divulge if the King’s siblings have the same condition.
“It is very rare to find the King and his children out of bed very early. That morning coldness treats them terribly,” said a source.
Mid last year, a source within the Kingdom circles said that Kabaka Mutebi developed allergies and was taken to one of the hospitals in Kampala where doctors immediately administered treatment.
But it turned out that the King had received wrong treatment and it worsened his health.
Asked which hospital had administered the wrong treatment, the source declined to reveal this information citing the need to protect the hospital’s brand.
But, a separate source alleged that Kabaka Mutebi had been treated from Platinum Medical Center, in Kampala where the facility was deemed fit to treat a patient with a high social standing.

According to the source, the Kabaka had to fly to Kenya, Nairobi at Agha Khan Hospital in August last year after the wrong drug prescription, for more specialized treatment, since the medicine he ingested in Kampala had released more toxins and intensified the allergies.
“The allergies affected his breathing and skin,” said the source.
Medical experts independently told this website that when the Kabaka came into contact with the allergen, his immune system’s reaction could have inflamed his skin, caused sinuses and a digestive disorder, conditions that the Palace source said the Kabaka was experiencing.
While at Agha Khan Hospital, the doctor who was assigned to examine the King proposed that he also takes samples of cancer and the Kabaka was taken to the cancer section.
“But because some Ugandan doctors work at Agha Khan, they immediately spread information back home that the King has cancer. That is how the rumor started moving,” said a source.
Kabaka’s visit to Agha Khan hadn’t saved the situation.
His health deteriorated at the start of this year.
“The allergies escalated in January and February. Every member of the family was worried,” a source added.

Heaps of insults were directed to the Premier, Peter Henry Mayiga as to why he had kept quiet and watched on as the loved King ailed.
Mr Mayiga responded and warned all those attacking him to stop speculating about the Kabaka.
A source said that at the time, Mengo was working closely with government to identify a good facility globally to treat the Kabaka, as he waited to conclude two important traditional functions since he would spend a longtime abroad.
“He was waiting to finish birthday and coronation celebrations which happened recently,” a source.
A separate source further added, “but also the Kabaka had to first wait to regain energy to travel.”
Dick Kasolo, the Kabaka’s spokesperson when reached for a comment declined saying, “I can’t comment on anything about the Kabaka please.”
This website further talked to Mengo’s minister of information Noah Kiyimba who expressed unawareness on Kabaka’s wrong treatment.
“I am not aware of what you are talking about.”
