Prof. Patrick Ogwang, the maker of Covidex herbal medicine, a wonder drug curing Covid-19 is in the early stages of developing a local vaccine, TrumpetNews has reliably learnt.
Ogwang is teaming up with several other Ugandan scientists who are receiving massive support from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
According to a source who wished to remain unnamed because of the sensitivity of the matter, the formula of the vaccine will have a coloration with the current Covidex herbal treatment.
Whereas the source couldn’t divulge more details about this vaccine in the pipeline, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last month said, Uganda was planning a major breakthrough as far manufacturing a local Covid-19 vaccine is concerned.
The President who was addressing the nation bragged that he was closely coordinating with a certain scientist over the matter.
“We will make our own vaccine I can assure you,” the President said in June.
A source said, the first clinical trial will begin in September as specimen will receive booster doses of vaccine to determine the safety and immunogenicity of mixed boosted regimens.

Whereas the President’s spokesperson Lindah Nabusayi couldn’t openly confirm the report, she said Museveni has been working with many scientists to find a cure for Covid-19.
“The President has been talking to various scientists, including Prof. Ogwang about developing a Covid cure,” Ms Nabusayi said.
The famous scientist Ogwang on Sunday revealed that he has had a lengthy conversation with the President on Covidex and other things.
He said the President has since provided him security and other necessary logistics to boost capacity to expand production of Covidex treatment.
Prof. Ogwang couldn’t be reached for a comment as his known phone number was busy.
Ogwang on Sunday revealed that he can do without any dependence on foreign pharmaceuticals because all the raw materials required to manufacture Covidex are locally available. He is sure of continued production because enough raw materials are available locally without necessitating any importation of anything.
