Uganda has received the 3rd batch of the AstraZeneca vaccines on Wednesday evening, a donation from the French Government through the COVAX facility.
The consignment was transported by KLM.
The vaccines were later taken to National Medical Stores in refrigerated trucks to the NMS cold rooms at the Headquarters in Entebbe.
According to NMS officials, the vaccines will be dispatched to health facilities and vaccination centres across the country.
The arrival of the Covid jabs comes at a critical time when the country is grappling with a huge spike of infections and deaths.
For two days, Ministry of Health recorded new 60 deaths and thousands of cases from samples tested in government hospitals.
