Col Kizza Besigye has said that Ugandans will pay a huge price for being foolish and stupid.
The former opposition leader blames the citizenry for making a poor leadership choice by keeping “mafia group” in power which he doesn’t recognize as a government.
He said the current spike of Covid-19 cases and deaths are a result of poor governance of President Yoweri Museveni who Ugandans repeatedly vote for, for now 6 times and therefore whatever consequence, the citizens must dance to their tunes.
The seemingly bitter ageing politician dominated the opposition leadership for 2 decades until his support waned in 2018 with the emerging of Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
A section of Ugandans alleged that Besigye and Museveni clandestinely work together to hoodwink Ugandans and keep in the latter in power forever.
“How foolish can one be to think like this,” Besigye said Monday while appearing on NBSTV to give guidance as a professional in relation to the soaring Covid-19 infections and how can Ugandans survive the tough times.
Besigye using his expertise as a medical doctor advised that in this new wave, Ugandans can only survive by themselves.
“Wash hands, sanitize and put on a mask.” He said.
He added, “don’t meet people. Stay away from them. That is how you can survive wide scale community transmission. Make sure you meet people if you must.”
He also maintained that Ugandans must take his herbal concoction blended from garlic, ginger, lemon and chili.
“What you call the concoction are natural ingredients that build the capacity of your body to fight. That concoction is something well-considered and has been researched. I am telling you what I am because I can defend it.”
Besigye further predicted that sooner or later all Ugandans will be infected with Covid-19.
He added, “As I was coming here, people were saying “Talk about COVID-19, not politics” That’s the utmost foolishness we talk about. There’s nothing more political than health because health is a common good.”
Besigye said the biggest problem he sees is simply having masses of people that are not thinking.
“That is why we have a regime like we have doing the things it’s doing for 35 years and we are simply lamenting,” he said.
He was quick to add: “We must realize that as people, we are foolish and we must deal with our stupidity.”
