SSP Samuel Bamuzibire has Tuesday breathed his last at Mulago Hospital where he has been admitted for weeks battling Coronavirus.
The deceased has been the commander of 999 patrol unit in Police Force.
He becomes the second senior cop to lose battle to Covid-19 following the passing of Mathias Turyasingura, the DPC of Kira Road Police Station who died a few weeks ago.
Tens of Ugandans have succumbed to the deadly virus lately in the new wave of the pandemic that carries different variants.
SSP Bamuzibire was sometime convicted by the Police Disciplinary Committee for using excessive force against opposition leader Col Kizza Besigye.
