Brendah Nantongo Wamala, daughter of Gen. Katumba Wamala has Tuesday been shot and killed in an attack which security believes was targeted and organized crime.
The 26- year- old had just returned from USA to work here in Uganda
She was seated alongside her father Katumba in a powerful military SUV- Toyota Land Cruiser under Reg No.H4DF2138 when four attackers on two motorcycles intercepted them, killed the driver Haruna Kayondo and Brendah.
Her father survived with bullet wounds and is currently undergoing surgery at Medipal International Hospital in Kololo to remove a bullet lodged in his shoulder.
At a time of her death, Brendah and the father were moving to Najjanankumbi to join her mother at a funeral.
According to the Whatsapp messages in which the deceased was sending to a close friend, her grandmother had reportedly died after contracting Covid-19.
Brendah revealed to her friend that she was missing her mother whom she hadn’t seen since Monday (yesterday).
“I have seen my mom since yesterday. But we are going there now to see how things are going to move,” she said in a text.
She revealed that her grandmother had been weak after contracting Covid in the recent past.
“My jaja was a fighter but she started saying I am tired. I think she gave up,” the text reads.
At 8:45 she told her friend that she would send an update upon reaching Najjanankumbi, little did she know this would be her final moment on earth.
Eyewitness said the shooting erupted between 8:47am and 8:58am.
A few minutes later Brendah’s lifeless body was lying in the Landcruiser’s back seat

Gen. Katumba later said in video that he was out of danger but the assailants killed her daughter who was very innocent. He said however, that was God’s plan.
