Confirmed! American singer Akon Returns to Uganda for Museveni’s Swearing in Bash

Aliaume Damala Badara aka Akon will jet into Uganda today ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Yoweri Museveni takes oath of office and will receive instruments of power at Kololo Airstrip.

The swearing in ceremony will be witnessed by 4000 dignitaries both local and international and among them is musician Akon who was in the country a month ago.

During his stay, the Senegalese born held private conversation with Museveni who was re-elected President on January 14 with 58%.

Akon revealed his plans of establishing a futuristic city in Uganda and Museveni, impressed by the idea offered him 600 acres of land.

A top government official with close links to the State confirmed to this website that Akon is part of the delegation.

The official who wished to remain unnamed was not sure if the singer will perform for the President tomorrow.

“All I know he is arriving today. As for performance, I can’t tell.”

Akon, while in Uganda visited several tourist and historical sites and further expressed shock why a group of Ugandans both here and abroad had engineered a negative campaign to brand the country as unsafe and unsecure.
