Government spokesperson has renewed his bickering with Speaker of Parliament after issuing a stinging rebuke against her on social media site Twitter.
It is a public secret that both officials don’t see eye to eye.
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga recently took his complaint to the President Yoweri Museveni that Ofwono Opondo is among government officials undermining her leadership.
The President telephoned Mr Opondo who, while speaking on phone denied undermining the lady from Kamuli but also expressed his discontent at how Kadaga conducts Parliamentary business with disrespect.
To prove that their beef is not yet over, Opondo on Wednesday responded to Kadaga in a tweet that has since gone viral.
“The country is still waiting for the COVID19 drug manufactured by a ‘boy’ from Busoga you promised on the floor of Parliament last year to be available in two weeks,” Opondo replied to Kadaga who earlier announced that she had received 22 names of eminent Muslim scholars who have requisite skills in Islamic Banking.
“I’ve forwarded them to the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.,” she said.
Last year, Kadaga told fellow MPs that he had been approached by an American scientist and Ugandan from Busoga who offered to manufacture a Covid medicine.
Until today, Ugandans labour to remind her of the pledge she made that within two weeks the drug would be available on the market.
