Museveni elevates Nakalema, Deo Akiiki in new Army Promotions 

Col Nakalema heads State House Anti- Corruption Unit.

The head of Anti-Corruption Unit attached to State House Edith Nakalema and deputy army spokesperson Deo Akiiki have been elevated in the new UPDF promotions.

The duo previously held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. They are now Colonels.

Col. Akiiki confirmed the developments but didn’t provide details.

Col. Nakalema belongs to the lethal unit of UPDF, the SFC which is tasked to oversee the President’s security and other critical installations in the country.

She was President Museveni’s Private Secretary until 2017 when he sent her abroad to further her studies.

Upon return Col. Nakalema was sent to State House Anti-Corruption unit to investigate civil servants involved in plundering State public resources.

On the other hand, Col. Deo Akiiki has served in the communications docket of the the army for close to two decades.
