Mengo warns Enemies: Don’t claim to Love the Kabaka

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi

Buganda Kingdom has warned of a well crafted plot by its enemies fronting the health of the King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi  as a major concern targeting to weaken the palace.

Dick Kasolo, the Kabaka’s press secretary in an explosive statement expressed disgust to malicious stories peddled to undermine the Kingdom, royal family and Buganda officials like Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga.

“There is a clear discernible plot by those enemies of Buganda to use this opportunity by creating rifts among the people of Buganda and undermining the Kabaka’s officials, especially Katikkiro,” Mr Kasolo wrote on Tuesday.

He also cautioned those spreading baseless rumours that the Kabaka had been admitted at Nakasero Hospital.

“The malicious falsehoods have ranged from an allegation that Kabaka had passed away last year or that he was admitted on emergency basis to Nakasero hospital a few days ago;’ Kasolo stated.

He also said people need to put an end to speculation on Kabaka’s health.

“While we continue to pray for Kabaka and his long life, there is increasing concern and a need to guard against speculative, false and outrightly malicious allegations circulating on social media,” he added.

Concerns about the Kabaka’s health grew two weeks ago when he appeared looking frail and thin during celebrations to mark his 66th birthday.

The Katikkiro later issued a statement insisting that the Kabaka is on the way to recovery from an allergy. However, many subjects have not believed this story.
