Dr Hassan Wasswa Galiwango, Uganda’s Ambassador to Kenya presented his papers to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, in Nairobi on Wednesday.
During the occasion, Dr. Galiwango, said that he was honoured and privileged to have been appointed as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Kenya.
He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda to H.E President Uhuru.
In his short remarks, Ambassador Galiwango recalled that, Uganda and Kenya have historically enjoyed cordial relationships strengthened by the strong political and social economic ties that continue to grow day by day, to which he looks forward to enrich further. He stated “this relationship is nurtured by our two leaders, who work closely on matters of mutual interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
He acknowledged that, Kenya is a major trading partner for Uganda and the Uganda High Commission, Nairobi, under his leadership is committed to further strengthen this trade for mutual benefit of our peoples.
He also Congratulated Uhuru upon his assumption of the chairmanship of the East African Community and assured him of Uganda’s full cooperation.
There after he presented the letters of recall of his predecessor and his credentials.
On receiving the credentials, President Uhuru congratulated Amb. Galiwango and welcomed him to Kenya, asked him to closely work on the bilateral and EAC integration issues.
