Senegalese-American singer, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon is slated to jet into Uganda along with his wife Rozina Negusei who was in the country a few days ago.

Negusei, during her visit met with President Yoweri Museveni and the two held a private conversation at State House Entebbe before she flew out of the country.

She would later define Museveni as a genius leader, a walking library. Adding that Ugandans are extremely lucky to have a leader equipped with tons of knowledge.

“I was pleased to meet such an honourable, genius leader and a walking library. He called me a daughter and gave me a name, Estella Ihangwe. It was amazing to be in the presence of such a knowledgeable leader. I have met several leaders, but President Museveni is exceptionally knowledgeable. You guys are lucky to have such a leader. Seriously, you won’t realise it until he is no longer here,”Negusei said.

Although details of the meeting remained scanty, this website has learnt that Negusei assured the President that she will return with her husband Akon to Uganda very soon.

“She is likely to jet into the country on February 14,” a source said.

We have established that during her visit, the Negusei, a fashionista and designer saw a huge opportunity of investing into leisure industry in Uganda.

“She announced $12 million investment in Uganda and said she will be joined by her husband Akon who will to construct a state of the art resort in Jinja,” a source privy to the State House meeting added.

In her interaction with the President, Negusei wondered why clique of foreigners, particularly the Americans are portraying the country as a war zone yet Uganda is at peace.

A section of the opposition teaming with Ugandans in diaspora have initiated a campaign to cripple down Uganda’s economy by scaring away investors and tourists with fake news  deeming Uganda as insecure and unsafe.

In her discussion, according to the source she committed herself to promote Uganda by introducing an annual event dubbed ‘World Carnival’ in which artistes are selected all over the world to perform in Uganda for one week.

However, all products sold on that event must be locally manufactured.

The event carries the concept of Nyege Nyege.

“But she found out that Uganda has no enough hotels to host the delegates flying in from different countries,” a source said.

Negusei’s husband Akon has for long been championing a self-sustaining Africa by erecting futuristic cities across Africa. The plans depict gleaming skyscrapers, shopping malls, music studios and eco-friendly tourist resorts.
