Uganda Police has promised to immediately vacate Robert Kyagulanyi’s immediately as directed by High Court.

Fred Enanga, the police publicist told the media on Monday at the head offices in Naguru that the force will indeed adhere to the judiciary after receiving the copy of the ruling.

“Although we are yet to obtain the copy of the High Court ruling sitting at Kampala, as a law abiding institution we shall respect the court and our security detail at Magere will leave,” Enanga said.

Enanga further appealed to Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine to remain vigilant and abide by the law like any other Ugandan.

However, Enanga said police will keep monitoring Mr Bobi Wine to ensure that he doesn’t break the law.

Police had earlier justified the heavy deployment at Magere that Bobi Wine was planning to incite violence.

Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been placed under preventive house arrest for close to 11 days.

Police said it was acting on intelligence that Bobi Wine planned to cause anarchy to protest the presidential election results announced by Electoral Commission.

Bobi Wine rejected the results in which he scored 34%, he said his victory was stolen by EC and with the help of military operatives.

On Thursday his lawyers led by Medard Segona filed a court application seeking to refrain security to vacate Bobi Wine’s home.

High Court ruled in their favour on Monday morning.

‘Breaking; The High Court has issued an order directing police and the military to vacate Hon Kyagulanyi’s premises,” Bobi Wine’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi tweeted.
