Ministry of Health has released pictures revealing a newly built Children’s Surgical Hospital in Entebbe which will be opened very soon.

This teaching hospital will provide free surgery to patients under 18 years in General Surgery, Gynaecological surgery, and other areas of critical health care.

“In partnership with Emergency, the hospital will open soon,” said Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine.

Ugandans have excitedly commended the good job by the Ministry and described the whole project as “breathtaking.”

The hospital will give a memorable quality to children saving millions of Ugandan parents from struggling to fly abroad for medical emergencies.

“This will save Uganda and Ugandans a lot of money spent on medical referrals abroad on complicated pediatric surgeries,” Atwine added.

The teaching hospital will also boost capacity of Uganda’s medical workforce in management of specialized pediatric health conditions.

Despite operating under very unfriendly economic environment generated by COVID-19 pandemic, Ministry of Health’s scorecard in keeping the health of Ugandans remains unquestioned.

The top officials at the Ministry have relentlessly endured criticism, blackmail, cyber harassment from State opponents aiming at discrediting them.

However, Dr Atwine has instead silenced these politicians with results as the Ministry continues to deliver health services.
