Uganda Police has for the first time restrained Robert Kyagulanyi from holding a campaign rally without firing a single shot or teargas.
Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and his campaign team had Wednesday morning thronged the island of Kalangala on Lake Victoria to address his supporters amid increased cases of COVID-19.
Police working together with the Military cordoned off the island, secured Bobi Wine, flew him in an army chopper to Kololo airstrip and safely drove him to his Magere residence.
Social media enthusiasts subscribing to National Unity Platform earlier announced on various platforms that Bobi Wine had been arrested.
Police however, dispelled reports saying it only refrained him from participating in an illegal campaign rally.

We would like to clarify that the candidate was restrained for continuously holding massive rallies amidst the increased threats of coronavirus, in total disregard of the Electoral commission and Ministry of Health guidelines. He’s being transferred to his home in Magere, Kampala.
Part of his advance team, captured on Cctv cameras and several video footages, while deflating tyres of police motor vehicles , inciting violence, obstructing police officers on duty, violating the health and safety protocols and various traffic offences, have been arrested for further statement recording.
