Tanga Odoi: I told Police to Block Bobi Wine from Entering Tororo. They Refused saying I am not their Boss

Dr Tanga Odoi

The NRM Electoral boss Tanga Odoi has Tuesday been left startled when Uganda Police refused to take his orders to crackdown NUP Presidential candidate’s procession.

Tanga concluded that some elements in Uganda Police are closely colluding with Robert Kyagulanyi.

He attempted to stop Bobi Wine from accessing Tororo town and only his efforts to be thwarted by Police.

Tanga in company of over 200 boda boda cyclist planned to disrupt Bobi Wine’s procession and a rally in Tororo Town.

But Police hurriedly stepped in and blocked him along Tororo-Nagongera road which is about three kilometers away from town.

Odoi said he was reminding police to play its role of enforcing COVID-19 guidelines.

He later said that when he asked Police to stop Bobi Wine because he was violating the EC guidelines and health regulations about the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the Police questioned Tanga Odoi who appointed him their boss.

“We are not blocking any one from holding a campaign rally but trying to remind the police to enforce the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by the  Ministry of Health to guard against Coronavirus as our NRM party President has done,” he said.

However, Bukedi South regional police commander, Mr Julius Caesar Tusingwire said that the group was blocked because it was prone to cause confusion, adding that they had neither sought permission as required by the Public Order Management Act.
