Robert Kalumba, the KCCA deputy spokesperson is admitted to Hospital in Kampala after he survived being lynched by what he called hooligans who beat him to pulp in Owino Market.
Kalumba, who until now remains gripped in shock told this website on Thursday, that it was God’s mercy that he survived.
At a time of speaking to us to on phone, Mr Kalumba was headed for scan to be examined by doctors.
He said, trouble began when he went to Owino to execute his official duties but was overwhelmed when a huge group of hooligans descended and pounced him on accusation of supporting the regime.
Kalumba said his crime was to wear a yellow KCCA uniform.
“It is God’s mercy that I survived. It was bad I am telling you. They all swarmed me while singing people power songs,” he narrated.
Adding that, as they beat him, the hooligans reminded him that their president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) is soon removing President Museveni from power.
Kalumba was rescued by police which made a few arrests.
