A retired Commissioner in the Health Ministry, Dr. Francis Runumi is battling Coronavirus at Mulago Referral Hospital.
The former Commissioner was put on ventilator after developing breathing complications while at Mulago.
“Please, my dear sisters and brothers take care of yourselves, wash your hands, put it on your face mask, and sanitize your hands, avoid public places without a mask.
And stay safe. God knows you dear. Quick recovery my auncle Dr. Francis Mwesigye Runumi,” message from Runumi’s relative has been circulating on social media.
On Thursday, another renowned doctor Yasin Kiyimba, the medical director of Rakai Hospital succumbed to COVID-19 at Mulago.
He became a second prominent Uganda to die of the virus in a week following Col. Shaban Bantariza demise.
There is an increasing number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Uganda since government lifted the lockdown in June.
