The FDC presidential flagbearer Patrick Oboi Amuriat has been arrested on his way to Najjanankumbi where he planned to meet the party leaders and thereafter head to Kyambogo for nomination.

Police and Military operatives intercepted Amuriat’s car and violently retrieved him before forcing him into Uganda Police car and is being driven to unknown destination.

Security had earlier arrested Kiira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and other FDC members who thronged the party headquarters.

A huge security deployment remains stationed outside FDC head offices to quell crowds gathering at the premises.

Amuriat is expected to be nominated at midday at Kyambogo grounds.
